ENS Adrianne Blake, NSCC, serves as Commanding Officer of Chief Division and Training Ship Essex in San Diego, California.

With more than 25 years of professional experience in banking, operations, project leadership, and organizational change, ENS Blake brings a strong background in leadership, mentorship, communication, and team development to the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.

​

Prior to assuming command, she served as the unit’s Public Affairs Officer and supported cadet and family engagement, recruiting, community events, and unit operations. As Commanding Officer, ENS Blake is focused on maintaining high standards while creating an environment where cadets are challenged to grow in confidence, responsibility, leadership, and character.

​

She is especially passionate about giving young people opportunities to discover what they are capable of and believes strong leadership is built through experience, accountability, service, teamwork, and a willingness to step outside one’s comfort zone.

​

A San Diego native, ENS Blake is a wife and mother of three, including two Sea Cadets. Outside of the program, she enjoys teaching Lindy Hop and swing dancing, photography, camping, crafting, and spending time with her family.

​

Her goal for Chief Division and T.S. Essex is to build a strong, welcoming unit where cadets are proud to belong, supported as they grow, and encouraged to become confident, capable leaders.
